Wilson Co S/C Awards

 On July 15, 2025, the Wilson County Shrine Club conducted their monthly meeting and recognized three Sudan nobles who received their 25 and 50-year Shriners International Service Awards. Sudan Outer Guard and Area Governor Lee Cannady opened the evening by welcoming the nobles, ladies and guests in attendance. The social and dinner were enjoyed by all.

    Noble’s Richard A. Brown and PP Edwin “Teeny” Jones PP(18) were present to receive their 25-year Shriners International Membership Service Awards. Noble Ralph A. Nichols PP(09) was present for his 50-Year Award. Noble Cannady read the congratulatory letters from the Imperial Potentate, Imperial Sir, Richard Burke and our Sudan Potentate. The certificates were presented to each by Illustrious Sir Tom Ferrell III, he thanked them for their dedication and service. Noble Lonnie T. Fortson was to receive his 50-year award and Noble’s Ralph M. Howell Jr., Donnie K. Dew, and Jack T. Stone were to receive their 25-year certificate but were unable to attend. They will be presented with their certificates at a later date.

        A little history was made as we opened the business portion of the meeting!  Noble Chris Boykin, Sudan’s Assistant Rabban, a member of the Wilson County Shrine Club introduced the Divan members present and their ladies.  He then announced the presence of four visiting Past Potentate’s, Illustrious Sirs Cale Grady(16), Stacey Pugh(17), Carl Smith(19), and Randy Simpson(24).  History continues with Noble Boykin being appointed by Noble Teeny Jones, in 2018, who had been appointed by PP Aubrey Nichols in 2009!   Seven Sudan Potentate’s at a Membership Service Awards shrine club meeting is noteworthy!
