On May 23, 2026, the Elizabeth City Shrine Club President Jon Cooper welcomed over 70 nobles their ladies and friends to the club for the annual Venison Feast celebration and presentation of the 2026 Shriners International 50 and 25-year Membership Service awards. Several nobles from our neighboring Khedive Shriners in Virginia were part of the gathering!
The top photo submitted shows the 50-Year recipients and the second photo submitted is that of the 25-year recipients. The awards were presented by our Sudan Potentate, Illustrious Sir Jeff Taylor. The Sudan Area Governor and Marshal Wiley "Tim" Hinnant assisted with the presentations. Noble’s Mike Burnham and Holly Colombo received their 25-year Shriners International Service Award and Noble’s Leon Brothers and Jimmy Gard were presented with their 50-year Shriners International Service Award.
The Venison Feast is Elizabeth City’s annual recognition dinner for the incoming Potentate’s of both Sudan and Khedive Shriners of Chesapeake, Virginia. This year, due to the winter weather issues, the Venison Feast was postponed from February to May. The feast includes deer meat in several different delicacies, bear meat in a variety of offerings, fried chicken, collard greens, black-eyed peas, corn bread and rolls.
A great night of masonic fellowship and sharing was enjoyed by all in attendance.
