On March 11, 2020, the New Bern Golden Age Club gathered at the West New Bern Recreation Center for their monthly meeting. They presented our Recorder George Raecher with eighteen (18) Easter baskets to be delivered and distributed to the patients at our Shriners Hospitals for Children - Greenville during the Easter season. This is the 10th year the group has furnished the baskets. A former Sudan Roadrunner, Noble Johnny Pugh and Lady Carol are members of this civic group and have in the past delivered the baskets. There were approximately 30 men and women present for the meeting. Coincidentally, during the question and answer part of the meeting, I believe Noble Johnny Pugh may have sold three of our 100th Anniversary Books to some ladies whose husbands were Shriners at one time! Great job by this group and a sincere heart of gold for the benefit of our patients!
