The Provost Guard was chartered in 1947 by Ill. Sir William Bundy.  He appointed Noble James Brewer to serve as Captain of the Guard in 1947 and served in that capacity through 1952.   Each Captain serves two year terms in office.  The Provost Guard had three Past Captains that have served as Potentate of Sudan Shriners.
