It is well known that the Hope Mills Shrine Club was full of excitement in hosting the Fayetteville Shrine Club’s 2026 Shriners International Awards. which included long term membership and awards to those nobles who excelled raising funds in support of our Sudan Children’s Fund! Noble Terry Adams and our Captain of the Guard, Mike Rivenbark had a great plan for the evening which included a presentation.
Mrs. Erica Cooper from Fayetteville, NC made a presentation about her daughter’s medical care. “Our daughter, Tillie, was thirteen years old at the time of first appointment at Duke in 2023. She was diagnosed with a severe case of scoliosis. She had an “S” shape in her back and was fitted with a back brace.
My husband and I played in a Shriners Golf Tournament last year and met Terry Adams, who introduced us to the Shriners Children’s. In January 2026, we obtained an appointment and went to the hospital in Greenville, SC. They x-rayed Tillie’s hand and found all of her growth plates have closed and was told the brace was no longer needed. The curve in her back is holding steady! We will go back for a follow up in January 2027.”
Throughout her presentation, Mrs. Cooper praised the physicians at our hospital and the entire staff for the care Tillie received. She said the treatments and care has changed Tillie life in a positive way! This true-life story definitely fortifies. “What We Are Really About”!
