Pamlico Co. S/C Honors a Great Noble!

On March 26, 2025, 1st Ceremonial Master Robby Sadler accompanied by Noble Greg Murphy, Past President of the Pamlico Shrine Club, and Noble Zack Paul traveled to the home of Noble Roscoe Joyner in Belhaven, NC. The purpose of the visit was to present Noble Joyner with a plaque from the club making him an Honorary Member of the club. Noble Joyner celebrated his 106th birthday recently. He has been a consistent supporter of the numerous fundraising events at the club.

A little history of Noble Joyner’s masonic travels shows that Noble Joyner was raised to the sublimed degree of a Master Mason on February 28, 1949 at Central Cross Lodge #187 in Raleigh, NC. In 1959, he crossed the Hot Sands and became a Sudan Shriner in Nash County during the term of Past Potentate Clyde G. McAuley from Rocky Mount, NC. Noble Joyner’s membership number is 10947. The year he joined, “Imperial Shriners” had 800,332 nobles.

On January 25, 2024, Brother Roscoe Joyner was presented with a 75-Year Membership Plaque from the Grand Master of Masons in North Carolina. Members of Central Cross Lodge #187, as well as the District Deputy Grand Master, Brother Carl Smith were present for that presentation.

Noble Joyner’s daughter, Sara Singer, is her father’s caregiver. She made mention of her father’s military service. He served in the US Army during World War 2 at the Battle of the Bulge. In April 1945, he participated in the liberation of hundreds of prisoners from the Buchenwald Concentration Camp.

  Brother Roscoe Joyner has an outstanding personality with his cheerful outlook, inspiration, and lifestyle over these 106 years. God Bless you Roscoe Joyner!
