They are a five-piece dance band out of Oriental and have been together for a total of thirteen years.  They like to play soul, funk, blues, r & b and beach music. They like to play for a active dance crowd and book from Virginia Beach to GA.

Drawing from decades of experience, this highly diverse group of musicians from across the Carolinas has come together with a range of music and personality to make any event a huge success. BIG SAM brings a good time and unique sound to clubs, stages, fairs, festivals, and more across the southeast!

Robbie Hegler--Greenville, SC resident and veteran bass player/vocalist , (formerly of The Creek, The Shakers, The Tim Clark Band , Coastline Band and Super Glide)

Greg Hurley--East Bend, NC guitar hero , who spent time on the axe with the Dallas Reese Band and one of the Charlotte area’s hottest bands, Super Glide.

John G Franklin--Charlotte, NC, Veteran vocalist/Keyboardist (formerly of The Breeze Band).

Lynn Samples--Charlotte,NC resident and veteran drummer/vocalist (formerly of Sugar Creek,Too Much Sylvia and Band of Gold)
