2014 SASA Fall Parade Lineup and Instructions

 

ALL Nobles in the parade and in staging areas must have (Noble Designated) SASA registration badges. Nobles without badges will be instructed to leave the area. Parade Marshals will have badges available for purchase at $15.00 per badge. Any Noble with a fake or reproduced badge will disqualify his temple from any trophies or awards.

The Parade officially starts at 12th Avenue South and ends at 29th Avenue South. To maintain the step-off schedule, it is important that there be no unit maneuvering before the official 12th Avenue South parade step-off point. Access to the temple line-up avenues will be from Kings Highway [Hwy. 17 Bus.]. The judging area will be at 28th Avenue South, and the reviewing stand will be at 26th Avenue South. The head of parade convertibles will line-up on South Ocean Boulevard between 7th & 8th Avenues South at 8:30 AM. These lead vehicles will exit the parade route and drop-off their passengers at the reviewing stand.

At the 29th Avenue end of the parade, street licensed vehicles can turn right and leave the parade area. All non-street-licensed-vehicles and units needing breakdown must continue on South Ocean Boulevard to the official staging/Ioading areas. All Nobles in the staging/Ioading area must have SASA registration badges.

Transportation will be provided from the staging/loading areas to the lineup area from 8:00AM until 30 minutes after the last unit has passed the 29th Avenue parade endpoint.

The Parade Planning Meeting will be at the SpringMaid Ballroom 30 minutes after the SASA Business Meeting.  All SASA temples MUST have a Parade Director in attendance in order to participate in the parade.

Step off times are estimated. All temples should line-up a minimum of 30 minutes before their estimated time of step-off.

2014 SUDAN “CASH GIVEAWAY”

The 2014 Sudan Cash Giveaway letters and tickets are in the mail. A slight twist in the annual giveaway this year in that five people will win part of the $10,000.00.  Illustrious Sir has elected to split the winning $10,000 into five separate prizes.  You do not have to be present to win the first four prizes.  The 1st Prize will be $5000.00; 2nd Prize will be $2000.00; 3rd Prize is $1500.00, 4th Prize is $1000.00 and the 5th Prize will be $500.00. The 5th prize winner must be present at the 2014 Fall Ceremonial at Smithfield on November 15th to claim the prize.   We still have the same sale incentives as always with the Top Club receiving $250.00; Top Unit receiving $250.00 and the Top Individual receiving $250.00.  Nobles, this fundraiser is very important in helping Sudan with the budget in cost of operations, maintenance and other unforeseen expenses.  Please make every effort to get out and sell these tickets.  The tickets are not just for the nobility.  The deadline to receive sales credit for prize money will be November 7th, 2014.  It is only through your support and active participation that Sudan can continue to be in the forefront supporting the “World’s Greatest Philanthropy”.

The South Brunswick Islands Shrine Club has a Reverse Raffle scheduled for September 27, 2014.  The Grand Prize is $5000.00.  Tickets for the Raffle are available for $100.00.  For that price you get a steak dinner for two and a chance to win the grand prize. Only 250 tickets will be sold.  The event will take place at the South Brunswick Islands Shrine Club, located at 4911 Old Shallotte Road in Shallotte, N.C.  Dinner will be served from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The reverse draw will take place from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Tickets are available from any member of the South Brunswick Shrine Club or by calling Bob Gunter at 910-754-7388- You do not have to be present to win.
