Began Masonic journey at Bayboro Lodge #331 in 1979
Served as Master of Bayboro Lodge in 1985
Became a 32 degree Mason at the New Bern Scottish Rite in 1980
Was created a Shriner in New Bern at the Winter Ceremonial in 1997
Currently a member of the Pamlico County and New Bern Shrine Clubs
Served as Treasurer in 2002 and President in 2003 of the Pamlico Co. S/C
Joined the Sudan Truckers
Served as Captain of that Unit in 2001
Made an Honorary Member of Sudan Mourners in 1999
Was born and raised in the Pamlico County Community of Reelsboro where he currently resides. The son of Isla Bennett and the late Milford Bennett.
Graduated from Pamlico County High School
Aside from Shrining, favorite pastime is playing music with family and friends at Mom’s house each week.
In 1962 married the former Juanita Jenkins of Pollocksville and they have two sons, Ken Jr., and Robert and four grandchildren.
Owner and operator of Tryon Electric and Lighting Co., in New Bern.
Member of New Hope Christian Church in Reelsboro.
