In 2008, the Cooligans were formed by eight members. The Unit was formed to have fun promoting the Shrine in parades and civic functions and to raise money for Shriners Hospitals for Children. The vehicles are “motorized beverage coolers” propelled by two 12volt batteries. Top speed is 15 mph with endurance of 25 miles. One third of the cooler is for the motor and the other two thirds is an actual ice chest. Their uniform consists of “beach wear”. Colorful shirts, khaki pants or shorts and a beach hat. |
